The Toddler Bed

So we thought it would be a good idea to start transitioning Rhys from the crib to the toddler bed before the baby gets here.  I thought this would be easy since she did so well when we stopped nursing, the bottle, binky and started sleeping in the crib instead of the pack n play.  Every new stage she has handled great this has been very tough though.  We tried it out and she went to sleep in it just fine however 3 hrs later she was screaming for us and was up 3 1/2 hrs that night.  So she has slept in her crib the last 2 nights, starting this Sat I am gonna try again but I plan to sleep in there on a twin mattress on the floor next to her, please say a prayer for us I hope it doesn't take more than 3 or 4 nights.

We made it =)

The trip to Padre went great!  Rhys did really well on the flights thanks to the dvd player and snacks =) We took 50 people with us down to Youth Camp we had a great time!  The Lord did so many awesome things in the lives of students and leaders.  We have several kids that feel called to ministry now and are looking at going to SAGU and different Masters Commissions which we are soooo excited about!  This camp is very competitive we do lots of challenges and sports each church is a different team and I am proud to say that we were Camp Champs again!  We haven't stopped since camp ended on Fri, my flight was cancelled Fri so Rhys and I didn't get home until Sat, Andrew's caravan had 2 flat tires 2 days after we were home a student in our youth group had a brain aneurysm and Andrew was air lifted with him to Dallas to have brain surgery Drew was there for 3 days and just got home yesterday.  Today we have been painting Paisley's room, tomorrow we hope to finish that project and hopefully get to take it easy for a lil while before the decorating begins.

Rhys was a handful at the beach all she wanted to do was run non stop chasing the sea gulls or she wanted to be in the ocean w/o holding your hand which was really frustrating.  I was hoping we would build sand castles and it would be a fun peaceful time however that didn't happen she went under water a couple of times the waves were big because a tropical storm had come in so they were constantly taking her down.  We didn't get to play much on the beach b/c she is fearless of the water which is really scary for me, when she went under the first time I cried and felt so bad but she came up laughing I don't get it most kids are scared of the water or they cry when they are coughing up water and its coming out of their nose but not her lol.  I am so glad she gets to grow up in an atmosphere around church and youth events the kids love her and its all she has ever known, she is so friendly and sociable I believe a lot of it has to do with the environment we have her in.

Andrew finally felt Paisley moving last night which is exciting!  I think it becomes more real for him when he can feel her too, I noticed that last time I was pregnant when Andrew felt Rhys moving it was like he had a deeper connection to her =) I have only had heartburn twice thank goodness I had it every night with Rhys by this point, no more nauseous feeling however my belly is getting bigger and its getting uncomfortable to sit certain ways and sleep.  I think I carry high b/c both of my pregnancies I feel like I have broken ribs I am constantly rubbing them they hurt so bad.  Well thats all the info I can think of to update ya with here are some pics from camp.
Our team was the Green Frigates "we had to have a ship name"

Andrew called me at 2am and said they shaved some of the boys hair in his condo we have checkers, the culdasac aka old man hair lol and the roofio

Rhys didn't just ride the lazy river she also did a waterfall and rapids with Andrew

Camp Padre here we come!!!

I'm a lil nervous I'm flying with Rhys by myself, she has flown 12 times but I've always had Andrew and last time she was 15 months old.  In the past I would give her a binky or a bottle this is going to be totally different with a 27 month old I'm bringing suckers, portable dvd player and some toys I hope it occupies her.  I can't wait to play at the beach with her this will be her 3rd time, she was so small in the past she really didn't play so I'm looking forward to building sand castles with her this time.  I can't wait to see what the Lord does this week at Youth Camp, I love to see the students fall in love with God and have a real change happen in their heart.  I will keep ya updated with what happens there!

Prego news just met with Dr. last week and everything is good I was measuring small but now I am in the normal range =) I almost have Andrew talked into the name "Paisley Belle" I found out Paisley means church or harvest time and Belle means God's promise, Andrew said he would confirm tomorrow lol.  We have been redoing Rhys's room hopefully by the end of July we will have both rooms finished.  Bad news I had my first heart burn of this pregnancy tonight =( I never had it before until I was pregnant last time and it started around 5 months and I had it every night I really hope I don't have it daily again its miserable.  Well I'm off to bed I will get some pics up from the beach next week!!!

I'm exhausted

Tonight I decided to detail Rhys's room, closet and dressers which was long overdue.  Since I have been pregnant I've been so sick I literally haven't cleaned her room in 5 months so you can imagine how crazy it was.  I wouldn't call myself a clean freak however when there is disorder I'm not in the best mood when things are in their place and its clean I am a happy camper I think I may be a lil OCD in that area =) so I started at 8pm and finished at 11pm and I'm totally wiped out.  It feels so good though to have it done I filled a storage box of clothes & shoes that were to small and I went through all Rhys's toys and filled another storage box with baby toys for her lil sister, lets just say Rhys wasn't to happy about losing the toys lol she never plays with them but when I told her they were for her lil sister she said "NO LIL SISTER" the sharing thing hasn't been going to well these days hopefully she will learn before her sister gets here.

So I almost have Andrew convinced on the name Paisley woohoo, I've done tons of research on it and I found that it means "church & harvest time" which is very cool.  Meanings of names are very important to us because you speak it over them everyday of their life we put a lot of thought into Rhys's name her name means inspired by God her middle name Moriah means God is my teacher.  Joyce Meyers has a great book on why its important to name your children with names that have significant meanings she has tons of scripture backing it up its a great read I learned a ton.  We ordered toddler furniture for Rhys we are getting ready to transition her from a crib into her toddler bed so we don't run into a problem once the baby gets here.  I'm a lil nervous about redoing her room and the baby room over the next couple of months, when we bought our house a year ago I got so burnt out on painting and decorating.  I hope I get into the nesting mode soon so I can get it all done =)

Let the painting and decorating begin!!!

We had our ultrasound this morning and its official its a girl!!!  Rhys was so funny when we told her she was having a baby sister she insisted that it was a brother lol she seems to be getting it now though.  We are really excited we were thinking if it was a boy that we would be done but now Andrew says we will have 2 girls and a boy or 3 girls =) Guys are funny they want their lil man.  So please pray for us that we can agree on a name because so far this pregnancy we haven't been able to agree on a girls name.  I really like Penley & Paisley Andrew isn't a fan of either yet he hasn't contributed an idea so far.  Last night I kind of figured it would be a girl it seems like the girls outnumber the boys in both sides of our families.  The baby is measuring a lil small so they changed my due date to Nov. 13th we meet with our Dr. next week to review all the ultrasound details.

We had a new water park open in our town a week ago we are taking Rhys on Thursday so I'll post some pics later this week!

Summertime

I haven't had time to write lately things have been soooo busy, usually I think of summertime as a time to relax and spend time with the family however we have been on the go nonstop.  We find out this Wednesday what we are having =) Rhys seems to think she is having a baby brother lol she has told everyone that.  Of course I am happy with either but a boy would make things a lil easier since Andrew and I cannot not agree at all on a girls name.  I'm finally starting to fill a lil better, Andrew has had to be Mr. Mom lately b/c everything that involves cleaning has a fragrance which makes me gag so he is very happy to have me getting close to feeling normal again.  Youth camp is just 2 weeks away, I can't wait we are going to South Padre Island, the beach is calling my name.  I just got my maternity swimsuit a couple weeks ago last time I was pregnant it was winter so it has been a new experience being prego out at the pool =) Things with ministry have been great!  I'm very excited about this new season of our life!  Growing up in Ga I  knew how to deal with tornadoes living in Mo for 5 yrs I became familiar with flooding but I have to tell you dealing with the wildfires out here in Tx has been very interesting, I think I've heard thunder and seen lightning once in the last year 1/2 I miss rainy days, trees, grass and lakes I'm looking forward to vacation in July to Mo.  However I must say the open skies, canyons and miles of wheat fields are beautiful here.  I will be back here soon to update ya on baby news!!!

Here are some videos of our youth performances over the last 2 yrs, enjoy!!!
