Different Prego Symptoms

So I thought I was in the clear this time around I wasn't experiencing any symptoms until a couple of days ago, I can't really complain though I have friends that threw up everyday for 9 months straight I am thankful I haven't experienced that last time or this time however I am experiencing very different symptoms than last time.  I am exhausted all the time to the extreme that I will sleep from 10:30pm - 9am then take a 2 hr nap in the day and I'm still tired.  My sense of smell is heightened again, last time the bread aisle in the grocery store would make me gag lol this time its anything cooking from beef, chicken, coffee, cookies to grilled cheese I can't stand to be around any of it.  Also like last time I now notice that my makeup has a smell so I have go back to unscented everything with makeup, lotion and no perfume which this cracks me up because I love candles and fragrances usually.  I think for me one of the worst things I am experiencing is the fact that I am already the size at 2 months that I was at 4 months last time, I hope I don't get huge this time around.  No major cravings have started yet I drink lemon water all day and started eating lots of green apples.  I really need to get Rhys potty trained though b/c washing her clothe diapers has become another issue for me I tried disposables but those smell worse when they get wet b/c of the fragrance in them.  Now I have to say my hubby is great he has helped clean & cook more since I haven't been feeling great and he makes sure I get quiet time and can sleep in but he will not wash the clothe diapers lol he made a deal with me when we started them 18 months ago that if we did them they were my thing.  I regret making that deal now lol.  I think I kind of have night sickness things seem to be worse at night right now.

On another note Andrew has decided to quit using his deodorant too =) he went 4 days without any to detox  his pores then we put him on the unscented Toms Natural Deodorant and its working great for him!  We tell Rhys there is a baby in my belly and she says hi to it but I don't think she understands, its still cute though.  We had our first ultrasound of the baby everything looks good so far I can't wait to find out what we are having, 8 more weeks!.  Andrew's sister Amy just had baby #4 so we are going to Jefferson City, Mo next week to meet baby Edison.  Youth is going great our Youth worship team had a break through last Wed nt it was powerful.  We start practice for our Easter human video tomorrow please pray for us that it goes well!

Update on past post

Rhys is doing better, she still has a cough but she is coming back to her normal self again =) I went to the baby Dr today and I love her!  My last Dr wasn't really personable, I felt like I annoyed her with my questions so it wasn't the most pleasant experience however our Pampa Dr. Terry is awesome!  Yes I said Pampa I am going to have the baby here instead of making the 1 hr 15 min drive to the Amarillo hospital like all my girlfriends here do.  I can't risk it I had Rhys in 3 hrs and I hear each delivery gets quicker so I am not going to risk having a baby in the car lol.  Also on my deodorant ban its going great!  So I am moving on to my next challenge of eliminating something else thats not good for us that we use I will fill ya in on that in the next post!

Sick Baby =(

Last Thursday Rhys came down with a cough and runny nose I didn't think to much of it b/c Andrew's allergies have been bothering him so I assumed it was the same.  Sunday it got much worse we were up most of the night we got about 3 hrs of sleep.  Yesterday we found out Rhys has RSV =( so she is doing breathing treatments every 4 hrs, it has been a rough couple of days I really hope my lil girl gets better soon.  She has only had a mild cold or two in her life so this is really hard for me to watch her go through, she has trouble breathing, she is retracting, lethargy, fever and won't eat =( please send prayer this way

How to make your own Deodorant

Here is the Deodorant recipe I am using, let me know if you try it what ya think =) enjoy!

If you still have your old deodorant stick, just screw it back down to the bottom and fill it with this. If not, you can just apply it with your fingers. It only takes a thin layer and if you add antibacterial essential oils, it'll last all day. I was also pleasantly surprised to find out that once applied, it's clear and isn't white or chalky! If you're not using natural deodorant already, it may take a week or two for your body to adjust...just FYI. The total cost to make this batch is probably only about $1.50!!

1/4 Cup Baking Soda (I use Bob's Red Mill Aluminum free)

1/4 Cup Arrowroot Powder (Some people like to use cornstarch, but corn has so many pesticides and can encourage candida so I passed on it)

2 Tbsp Coconut Oil

10+ drops of essential oil (Some antibacterial ones are Tea Tree, Lavender, Thyme, Myrrh, Lemon, Grapefruit, Peppermint) (I used lemon, peppermint and myrrh)

Mix it all together add more or less to get the consistencey that you like =)

Goodbye Deodorant

As most of you know Andrew and I are pretty health conscience we watch what we eat & drink and when we had Rhys we didn't get any vaccinations, I nursed & made baby food we also use clothe diapers.  So last night I decided every month I wanted to get even healthier with things that we use that aren't good for us.  I have been having issues with deodorant now for years about 7 years ago I found some lumps which really scared me they went away eventually but I always wondered if my deodorant had something to do with it. Every night I would wash it off before I went to bed and even when I shower I try to get as much off as I can but it seems like my pores are so clogged with it that it never really comes off totally.  So I started doing some extensive research and here a small amount of what I have found.

Dr. Mercola - There are certain metals that are toxic to humans; they are poison and most people do not understand this. They are NOT nutrients in small quantities -- if anything they are anti-nutrients. What are these commonly misunderstood toxins?  Mercury, fluoride, and aluminum. You don’t need any of these poisons in your body, so remember to avoid them. Unfortunately, if you use antiperspirants, you are most likely exposing yourself to aluminum -- the metal that’s been linked to Alzheimer’s disease and now possibly breast cancer. Aluminum salts can account for 25 percent of the volume of some antiperspirants. Antiperspirants work by clogging, closing, or blocking the pores that release sweat under your arms -- with the active ingredient being aluminum. Not only does this block one of your body’s routes for detoxification (releasing toxins via your underarm sweat), but it raises concerns about where these heavy metals are going once you roll them (or spray them) on. Given that antiperspirants are used on your armpits, the aluminum salt concentration is highest near your breast tissue. Further, when women shave under their arms it can result in a higher aluminum-salt absorption rate due to the damaged skin. The aluminum in antiperspirants has been linked to breast cancer before. Fortunately, reducing your exposure is pretty simple -- simply ditch your antiperspirant and deodorant. So if you wouldn’t eat something you would put on your skin, I would advise not using it.

I personally can't imagine going without deodorant so then I researched how to make natural deodorant.  To be honest I was a little nervous because many articles I read said as your body detoxified itself from the chemicals in your pores from your deodorant that you might sweat more and smell.  Well to my surprise I made my deodorant and put it on this morning and I still feel fresh.  It's crazy that the chemicals in our deodorant actually make us smell worse than our own body sweating I never knew that the odor came from your pores releasing the chemical deposits from your deodorant.  I will keep ya posted on how this goes but so far so good =)

Beautiful Day

Today was so fun it was 80 so Rhys and I played outside today.  She loves to play on her swing and slide but most of all she has an awesome play house with a kitchen inside that she entertains herself so good with.  I just love to spy on her as she plays, she makes different voices for her toys as they talk to each other its soooo cute!  We even broke out the water hose for her to run in.  Now I am very excited about this pregnancy b/c it will be through the summer with Rhys it was through the winter so I had a hard time with clothes I am looking forward to sun dresses and flip flops this time =) today I realized that being pregnant in a swimsuit might not be so flattering lol.

We had new ceramic tile laid down in our kitchen today and Rhys is scared of it, she refuses to walk on it even though she has no problem with it in the bathrooms.  So far I am enjoying her not being right under me while I cook or load the dish washer lol I wonder how long this will last.

Quick update about our talk Wed night it was so great to connect with some students who had a bad image of what a Father is supposed to be, several of them prayed for a proper relationship with God, I was shocked to find out how many students had a hard time viewing the Lord as a Father b/c of issues that they have had with their earthly fathers.  I am super excited for them as they start this new journey as Sons and Daughters of our Heavenly Father.  I am so happy with where the Lord has us right now we have amazing kids that are so hungry for God and want to go deeper it is super exciting to watch as the Lord transforms their life!

Ministry & Life =)

I am really excited about tonight Andrew and I are speaking on God the Father which is something I had a hard time with when I was a new believer.  I had issues with what a Father was supposed to represent b/c in my life it represented:  abandonement, rejection, abuse and love that is conditional based on performance.  I had no problem with God Almighty or God my Savoir but God the Father was a sensitive subject for me.  I am excited for the students to hear this message I am believeing God wants to reveal His heart to protect, provide, encourage, be present and be our Heroes.  Since we have been parents I understand God the Fathers heart so much more.

On another note, I am going to start planning Rhys's 2nd Bday next week I think it would be fun to have a tea party theme so the kids can dress up.  Rhys loves to wear hats, jewelry and her tutu I think it would be perfect for her personality =) Please let me know if you have any ideas!  Last night I took Rhys to the Dollar Tree which I had not been to in years and to be honest I can't believe how much good stuff they have in there!  We bought flash cards for her colors, shapes, numbers and words for a $1 each and they are good quality.  She loves to go through them I am super excited to start tot school with her I was going to wait 6 more weeks until she turned 2 but she is so interested in learning so we are jumping in!

Why I deleted my Facebook

Ok so I have many friends and family keep asking me why I deleted my facebook 8 months ago.  I have a couple reasons so here are a few of them:

1.  Privacy - Applications and other users can take advantage of you if you are not cautious enough.  One day I noticed the ads on my facebook page were things I would be interested in so I did some research about why my ads were different than my husbands page and I found out that all of your information like your bday, relationship status, book your reading and other personal tidbits on Facebook is used by them to help advertisers better target their ads. I'm not sure if they have the capability to take chat conversations and use those, but I'm sure they are saved in a place where something (or someone) can read them and pull out valuable information. Even your picture albums are scanned for keywords that might indicate what you are interested in so that an advertiser can better reach its audience.

2.  Trouble Deleting your Facebook account - Until 2007 Facebook never deleted information of a user when one deleted their Facebook account. It was more like suspending an account, which meant, one can get their account and all the information back anytime if they decided to join Facebook again. In 2008, Facebook introduced an option to delete the account. Even today, one has to be sure not to just deactivate their account but also check other preferences to make sure that your account is deleted for sure, this happened to me I thought my account was deleted and about a month ago I was able to log back in by reactivating my acct. and I was shocked to see that all my pictures, post, friends everything was still there even though I thought I had deleted it months before it is creepy to me that facebook kept all my information.

3.  Addictive - With tons of applications available out there, Facebook is one of the most addictive sites on the Internet. People get hooked on applications and games like Farmville, Mafia Wars, etc. Many schools report that the average grade of students has gone down and the main cause is social networking sites.  I myself was on there way to much just wasting time, since I have deleted my facebook I have picked up new hobbies like:  making hair bows for Rhys =) photography and reading so much more.

4.  Scams -  With so much of your private information available in your Facebook account, it's easy for scam artists and hackers to use this information to target your other accounts—such as, email, banking, and PayPal.  No matter how secure a website is, hackers always find a way around so they can try to spread worms and viruses via the website. Since news spreads very fast on Facebook, a click on an unknown link is all that is needed to spread the virus to your friends, their friends and so on.  Last summer someone hacked our computer and was able to access our email & online banking, months later my bank called us and shared that our debit card had been compromised and that someone probably accessed our information through our email from online shopping.  I was so alarmed by the situation that I didn't get online for weeks until we had our computer completely cleaned out and new security software installed.

All of my family and friends have a Facebook I am not anti-Facebook its just not for me I made this post to explain why I have issues with Facebook I am not trying to get everyone to delete theirs.  I hope this info will help you be more aware and safe on there =)
